Thomas Welte
Thomas Welte is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), tax advisor and Chartered Accountant (CA) Singapore. He is an expert in group tax issues of large and medium-sized companies in reorganisations and corporate insolvencies, corporate acquisitions, corporate reorganisations as well as the development of innovative investment and financing models in the private and public sector. His expertise also includes advising on (corporate) succession planning and non-profit organisations.
Historically, advising the media industry has been one of his core competencies. As a Chartered Accountant (CA) and certified member of ICPAS (Institute for Certified Public Accountants Singapore) as well as founder of AUTACO Asia Pte. Ltd. in Singapore, Thomas Welte also acts as a bridge between Europe and Asia, advising on accounting and tax issues, including the establishment of medium-sized and large companies based on both continents.
After working at the Ministry of Finance of Baden-Württemberg in Stuttgart, he joined KPMG Peat Marwick Treuhand GmbH/KPMG Deutsche Treuhand-Gesellschaft AG, where he was most recently responsible as a partner for, among other things, corporate reorganisations (including M&A), the development of innovative investment and financing models and tax and business advice to non-profit organisations.
As Senior Vice President Group Accounting & Taxes at a large media group in Munich, Thomas Welte built up the group tax department of the company and managed the strategic planning, control and alignment of group and participation structures. In addition, he took over the operational management of individual group companies, including, among others, the Formula 1 Group company in Jersey and London/UK.
In 2005, he founded AUTACO GmbH Wirtschaftsprüfungsgesellschaft in Munich.
His outstanding entrepreneurial perception, coupled with proven constructive lateral thinking, makes him one of the leading specialists in the successful use of tax law in the interest of the client.
